Ebong Ekwere works in two distinct styles with wood and metal, his materials of choice. The academic avenue where he creates striking portraits of Nigerian well-known personalities, and the more stylized expression, where he forms his figures to replicate rhythm and movement. The former led to his work with the Federal Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and National Orientation. Ekwere is also a talented draughtsman, fully displaying the range of his ability.

Ekwere’s work has been exhibited and collected widely in Nigeria and internationally.
