Angel Ihosvanny Cisneros, known as ‘Ihosvanny’, is a self-taught artist and member of Movimento dos Nacionalistas, a visual arts movement in Angola. He studies the physiological effects of urbanism through various media including painting, video, and installation. He is constantly inspired by the city of Luanda and the continuous chaos it houses.
Ihosvanny’s work has been part of exhibitions at 1st Kampala Biennale, Kampala; the Jewish Museum, New York (2014); Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia, Salvador (2012); the 11th Havana Art Biennial, Havana (2012); the Luanda Triennial, Luanda (2010 and 2007) and the African Pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale (2007), among others.
