Mbuno has had over 15 exhibitions of his work around the world including in Kenya, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, U.S.A, and the UK. In 2013, he was selected for the Kenyan Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale.

Kivuthi Mbuno’s work elevates the ordinary to the extraordinary. Over the two decades that his career spans, his subjects and inspiration have been combinations of animals, humans, symbols of traditional life, and wide-open spaces. He captures his imagery with his precise style of drawing, using ink, color pencils, and pastels.
