Riiko Sakkinen is a visual artist and political dissident. He is the founder of TURBOREALISM, an anti-capitalist art movement. Sakkinen was born in 1976 in Helsinki. He lives in Spain since 2003 and is headquartered in Pepino, Province of Toledo. Sakkinen studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki, graduating in 2002.
Sakkinen has exhibited his works widely around the world including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Nationalmuseum, Stockholm; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Camden Arts Centre, London, Artipelag, Stockholm; Musac, León, Spain and Serlachius Museums, Mänttä, Finland.
His works are in the permanent collections of several museums including the Museum of Modert Art, New York; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; HAM, Helsinki; Amos Rex, Helsinki; Serlachius Museums, Mänttä, Finland and Bury Art Museum, United Kingdom
